Salomon X Fred Again..

Art Direction, Branding

Salomon needed Fred Again more than Fred Again needed Salomon, and that imbalance became the foundation of the project. The challenge was to design a collaboration that earned its place inside Fred Again's world rather than borrowing his name for exposure, one that moved through community and instinct instead of manufactured hype, and that felt less like a product launch and more like an invitation for his fans, the ones replaying his sets, living in the forums, chasing his next move, to keep showing up.

The strategy was to let the brand behave the way Fred Again, and his audience, already do: building in public, rewarding repeat engagement over one-time attention, and translating Salomon's own "showing up, not watching" ethos into something this specific community could wear and return to. Every decision, from naming to language to visual identity, was built around participation over spectacle, instinct over overthinking, and connection over performance.

The result is FA.. XT-6, a collaboration that keeps Salomon's identity fully intact while folding Fred Again's signature directly into it: his two dots set at the exact 81.5° angle of Salomon's own S, a quiet but unmistakable mark of authorship. The language throughout, from "Play that beat" to "Locked in," pulls directly from the energy of his live sets, while the product, packaging, and campaign all reinforce the same idea: that this isn't a finished thing to observe, but something meant to be played, worn, and run back again.
